Unit 1
This unit teaches Compassion related to Helping a Student Experiencing Domestic Violence, and Civility related to a Student Experiencing Bullying Because of Sexual Orientation; teaches Opinion Writing; reviews Peer Pressure; Strategies for the Target, Strategies for the Witness, and Strategies for the Aggressor; reviews Red Physical, Verbal, Relational, and Cyber Behaviors; reviews Red Behavior (HIB), Orange Behavior (Conflict), Yellow Behavior (Anger), Green Behavior (Friendly), and Blue Behavior (Neutral); and requires students to complete an Act of Kindness exercise. Grade 8 students write essays in the software in response to exercise prompts.
Unit 2
